Founded in the 1960s in Prato by Mr. Giovannelli, thanks to his innovative vision, the company managed to stand out in a city historically dedicated to yarn and fabric production, which reached its peak with the global export of wool and cotton.

Specializing in fabric coating for eco-furs and lamination for apparel, leather goods, and footwear, Gommatex serves as a strategic partner for leading Italian and French fashion brands. Despite remaining a family-run business, the company has experienced an exponential growth, always focusing on innovation and quality.

In the 1970s, the acquisition of TRT Finishing and EWS Laundry, companies specialized in textile finishing and washing, enabled Gommatex to expand its production chain. This investment made it possible to offer a finished and customized product, guaranteed by rigorous quality control at every stage of production.
